The former Republican Florida governor and his wife Columba live on the outskirts of Miami in the exclusive Coral Gables development of Almeria Row, a posh section of neo-Georgian townhouses (reminiscent of those in New York and London) which were influenced by the architecture of Mott B. Schmidt. The Bushes’ four bedroom, four bathroom townhouse (purchased in 2011 for $1.3 million) boasts 3,485 square feet of living space within a blended classical and tropical design. The house features a spacious kitchen with Calcutta terrazzo countertops, a covered terrace, and access to a courtyard. According to records, the home was assessed in 2014 for $1.1 million. But the house Bush ultimately desires is the White House—like his ancestor President Franklin Pierce, his father President George H.W. Bush, and his brother George W. Bush before him.
